SEASON HIGHLIGHTS & SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
February 17, 2026 - GOLF IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATES...You Never Know What You're Gonna Get! What a nice day for golf! 153 lovely ladies turned out to Members Club for our 2026 Season Kick-Off. We played a 9 hole Step Aside Scramble from the VI tees on all 3 nines. A warm buffet lunch was served, and President Kim A. conducted her first official meeting. Thanks to all the Committees and helping hands that worked so hard to make this wonderful event possible!
December 2, 2025 - Sleigh Your Game! Fortunately for us, there was no golf today! The day started out wet and cold, and we were thankful to be inside. We enjoyed a morning of socializing and spreading good cheer in a beautifully holiday decorated ballroom! Mimosas & Bloody Marys were flowing and we enjoyed a very creative brunch menu. Our Madam President Connie did a great job reviewing the year for all and introducing our new 2026 Executive Board. Barb S. and her team distributed over $2,000 in Ringer Awards; congrats to all of the 2025 Winners! Our talented Decorating Committee truly shone bright this holiday, turning the luncheon venue into a festive wonderland! Thanks to all that attended, and thanks to the Board for picking up the bill!
November 11, 2025 - LGA Honors Veterans Day! Red, white & blue were the colors of the day! 75 brave (or crazy?) LGA members turned out for the first round of the Ringers Tournament. Thank you all of our Veterans for your service!
November 4, 2025 - LGA Full Moon Gathering~ Twenty one hardy ladies met on the beach just outside our beach club for a relaxing evening of watching the sun set and the moon rise! Named the Beaver Moon, for when the beavers start building dams before winter, it was a sight to see. If you missed this one, the Cold Moon peaks at 6:14 pm on Thursday, December 4th. It will be special; it's the third and final superman of 2025. Check the sky around 4:50 pm for the moon illusion, making it look huge and golden on the horizon.
October 28, 2025 - LGA Pumpkin Par-Tee ~ Bewitched, Bothered and Bogeyed was our theme for this year's Halloween extravaganza! Although the weather didn't cooperate for golf, it did not dampen the spirits of the LGA! 100 ladies turned out for the costume contest, meeting and lunch and we enjoyed the afternoon. Connie, our President (aka Cruella de Vil) led the business meeting, announcing the approval of the revisions to the By-Laws and congratulating our new 2026 Vice President Susan Lamar and our 2026 Treasurer, Ellen Farber. Dive into the Photo Gallery to see the winners!

September 23, 2025 - LGA Hope Harbor Home Tournament ~ This charity event was held to benefit Hope Harbor Home. HHH responds to domestic violence in Brunswick County and promotes nonviolence in our communities. Colleen J., with the help of her awesome committee, raised $44,000 for the cause! It began with selling of purple golf shirts, donations for signing the keepsake banner, a fun Ladies Night out on 9/22, followed by the tournament of 158 LGA, Niner and St. James lady golfers, a silent auction and a wonderful selection of donated raffle baskets to win! A buffet lunch followed golf, with a presentation from the Executive Director of HHH, Karen Custer. A great day was had by all! We thank our Diamond Sponsor Troon, Platinum Sponsor Southport Baptist Church, Gold Sponsors R.D. White & Sons, Inc., Karen Collins Insurance, Equitable Financials Advisors and Silver Sponsors Oak Island Sub Shop, Stretch Mobility, Barker & Canady Builders and Southport Dental.

Week 1 was modified alternate shot and week 2 was one best ball of two. The temps were high, but 2 teams prevailed! Our low gross winners were Barb S. & Kathy B., our low net winners were Jackie M. & Carol A. Congratulations to both teams!
May 13, 2025 - Spring Fling theme, "18 Shades of Green." After several days of rain, we finally saw the sun! You'll notice in one of the photos, half of the group "got the memo" to wear a shade of green. Pink and black also seemed to be a popular color combo, and about an hour into the day, we were all wearing our shades! We were treated to a brand new game, some of us played it better than others.... The luncheon after golf was lively as usual and we all enjoyed a buffet of quiche, sliders, crispy potatoes, salad and cookies & brownies.
