BOOMERANG
"Boomerang" and "Super Boomerang" are 50/50 raffles that take place once a month and at LGA special events throughout the year. Tickets are sold the day of the raffle and half the money collected goes back to the LGA and the other half will be awarded to the lucky member(s) with the winning ticket number(s). Got to be in it to win it!

CHIP-IN FUND
The Chip-In Fund is a fun way to win some cash during LGA weekly play, but you have to be in it to win it! If anyone chips their ball in while completely off the green to hole out, these players get to divide the total cash fund. The cost to participate is $1.00 on every Tuesday you wish to participate.

COMPETITIVE TOURNAMENTS & SPECIAL EVENTS
Competitive Tournaments & fun, Special Events are offered throughout our LGA season. Surely you will want to be a part of them all!
Four (4) Special Events are held each year consisting of golf followed by a luncheon at Members Club. These themed events are the season opener Kick-Off in February, Spring-Fling in April or May, Pumpkin Par-Tee in October and the Holiday Par-Tee in early December.

HOLE-IN-ONE FUND
The Hole-in-One Fund is open to all current LGA 18-Hole members and is offered as a reward for those either skilled or lucky enough to achieve a hole-in one. The cost to participate is $1.00.

RINGERS
Throughout the LGA season players record their best gross score on each hole, at all four courses, using a Ringer Card. At the LGA's year-end Holiday Par-Tee in December prizes are awarded for Ringers, Birdies, Eagles and Holes-in-One. These awards are determined from calculations derived from each member’s final Ringer Card.

TRAVEL LEAGUES
The Clubs at St. James LGA has two travel leagues that members may sign up for, the Ladybirds and the Coastal Carolina Ladies Interclub League. These leagues give our membership the opportunity to meet lady golfers outside our gates, and the chance to experience other local golf courses.
The Ladybirds began in the mid 1990's as a way for women golfers to meet and play with players from nearby clubs. This league consists of 12 golf courses throughout Brunswick County that play Monday-Friday. Season runs April through September and all LGA members are eligible to join as each round is flighted by handicaps. Each play date will be announced approx. 3 weeks in advance and a sign-ups will be in Chelsea > Tournaments > Ladybird Sign Up on a first come, first serve basis. When sign-up is confirmed, a detailed email will be sent to participants.
10/30/2024 We had a very good day at Oak Island Golf Course playing the final tournament of the season, The Cup. Our team, composed of Susan Lamar, Dale Lanks, Mary Ann Edwards, Dawn Harris, Pat Stephenson, Ann Davis, Sheila Salter and Mary Bendinelli came in a close 2nd place to Lockwood Folly. Our team scored 520 points (7 out of 8 lowest NET scores) Lockwood Folly scored 515. Kim Alleman, JR Rose and Holly Oehler played as alternates for fun.
Coastal Carolina Ladies Interclub League, created in 2022, plays different days of the week and currently has 8 participating golf courses in both Brunswick and New Hanover Counties. Each event allows a club to travel with 8 of their members, with 2 of their players paired against 2 players from another club. Tournament format is a Match Play. Club's points are accumulated during the season and the club with the most points gets the winner's trophy . Cost to participate in each play date is $65 and includes golf, lunch, and prizes.
